Cosmelan- A peel and bleaching agent- expensive junk

First there was cosmoderm, now we have cosmelan-since there was nothing great about cosmoderm, let us find out what is so great about cosmelan.

Cosmelan is a new skincare product that is said to decrease minor skin discolorations on the body. It is classified as a bleaching agent or a depigmentation product.

How does Cosmelan work?

It is believed to act by decreasing amount of melanin formed in the skin. When Cosmelan is used regularly, most dark skin pigmented spots gradually fade away. So if you have dark skin, I think you can become white (wonder if MJ is marketing this product cause he is so broke!)

How is cosmelan sold?

Cosmelan is sold as a Package deal. The initial treatment requires one buy Cosmelan 1 package and once the skin pigmentation has disappeared, the cosmetic benefits can be maintained by using maintenance Cosmelan 2 package.

What are ingredients in Cosmelan 1?

- Azelaic acid
- Kojic acid
- Phytic acid
- Ascorbic acid
- Arbutine
- Titanium dioxide

What are ingredients in Cosmelan 2?

- Titanium dioxide
- Kojic acid
- Phytic acid
- Ascorbic acid

After use of Cosmelan, one has to buy another formula known as the mesoesthetic lotion. This lotion is mixture of hydroviton, vitamin k, vitamin E, amniotic fluid, glycerin and silicone oil.

  1. I am currently on day 12 post cosmelan peel and though I feel it has been a painful process I have to say that my brown melasma patches and frekles have gone already. It does work. You do, however, have to be prepared for constant shedding/peeling of skin for at least a week - which looks pretty awful and putting the post peel creams on raw skin is not a pleasant experience.
