ActiveFX- another laser? part 2

Is Active FX treatment permanent?

No the only thing permanent about Active FX is that you will waste a lot of money. No, active FX is not a permanent cure for fine lines, wrinkles or any other skin disorder. Most individuals see skin blemishes return in 3-9 months

IS there any thing one has to do after the treatment?

Yes, to delay return of wrinkles, stop smoking, avoid intense sun, wear a sunscreen when going out and dress in protective garments

Where is Active FX treatment done?

Active FX is an outpatient treatment done at a clinic or spa. There are no extensive preparations required prior to the procedure.

How is the treatment done?

The face is rinsed and gently dried. The therapist will apply a topical anesthetic or a cold ice pack 20 minutes prior to the procedure. The Active FX device is held close to the skin surface and activated. The beam penetrates the skin and generates heat. The heat somehow goes into the deeper layer and remodels tissues. The eventual result is a nice firm, smooth, wrinkle free skin – at least this is how it is supposed to work

How long is the procedure?

In general, expect to spend about 45-60 minutes at the clinic. After the treatment, most individual develop mild redness, swelling, and some bruising. These transient side effects disappear in 2-3 days. One can use mascara to hide the reddish discoloration. The skin texture is rough for a few weeks. Thus, one should apply a moisturizer and keep the skin clean. After the procedure, one should avoid sun exposure, otherwise the skin will turn very dark.

When can one return back to work?

In general, the downtime depends on extent of the procedure. Most people can return back to work in 24-48 hours

Does the treatment hurt?

Yes, 100 percent. Everyone says it hurts – like hell. Feels like a hot needle but only lasts a few seconds.
