Back Acne- Self Care

Self Care

There are many thousands of chemicals and solution for back acne. The majority of treatments are not worth a dime. Go simple and do not believe for a second that if something is more expensive, it will work better. When it comes to acne, avoid stores that advertise gimmicks like “two for one” or “50% discount if you buy two.” If these products were that good and effective, there would be no discounts.

Use standard chemicals like benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid to clean the back. These substances have a track record and can help get rid of excess oil on your back. The acids are mild and have to be used on a daily basis. Most individuals see a difference in their back acne in 6-8 weeks. Unfortunately, less than 30% see a response to these chemicals.

Do not buy and use fragrant or scented soaps. While these soaps may smell nice, they do nothing for your back. In fact the synthetic chemicals in the soaps can aggravate your acne. Just a bland soap is as good as any expensive soap. All you want in a soap is something that will wash the skin and get rid of oil and other crap.

No matter how big or juicy the pimple, never squeeze it manually or with any device. Squeezing only leads to scaring. And if you think treatment of acne is difficult, acne scars are even worse to treat.

If you are an athlete or frequent the gym often, shower frequently and change into clean clothes 2-3 times a day. Wearing the same sticky sweaty shirt is not only worse for your acne but you will not have many friends from the stench.

Individuals with long hair and back acne, should get their hair trimmed. For some reason, long hairs tend to irritate skin and worsen the acne.

Always wash your hair regularly. While any shampoo will do, some skin doctors do recommend use of shampoos containing pyrithone Zinc.

For those who have back acne and want to go out, always wear a sunscreen. While a sunscreen does not have any anti acne properties, it will keep the skin from being irritated from the hot sun.
