Luscious Lips part 1

The most important part of lip augmentation with dermal fillers is that the injection has to be done right. This is because unevenness or asymmetry of lips can occur very easily. The dermal filler has to be placed in the right location to produce the desired result.

There are two Permanent implants, AlloDerm and Gore Tex. These two can only be inserted in the lips via small incisions along the corner of the mouth. Once the dermal fillers have been inserted, they mix with the tissues and gradually fill up with water. The lips then appear plump. The incisions do hurt a wee bit afterwards.

Gore -Tex
is a plastic like material and is quite well tolerated by the body. It is easy to insert. Rarely, the plastic may become firm and the lips will feel hard.

After the procedure, most people can return to their normal lifestyle within 1-3 days. The lips do appear swollen and bruised for a few days. Once can hide the dark red marks with lipstick. Complete recovery after lip augmentation can take 5-7 days.

For all consumers, never go for permanent lip augmentation in the beginning. Lip augmentation is not for everyone and it does not always produce the expected result. One has to be realistic. There is too much hype about this procedure and there are many individuals who have had a poor response. So select a temporary dermal filler the first time. A good choice may be juvederm or restylane. They both last about 6-9 months and you will get an idea what lips augmentation is all about. If you like it, you can select a permanent filler the next time.
