Can Red Wine Prevent Aging- part 2

Soon one or two health food companies heard about Resveratrol and the next thing you know- this chemical was on every cosmetic cream, lotion, potion gel, liquid, and soap.

Natural Resveratrol is commonly found in skin of red grapes and functions as an anti fungal agent in the vineyards. During the fermentation process, the Resveratrol is preserved and remains functional. So how does Resveratrol work as an anti aging agent? Some claim that it is so great that it really does not matter. Others say that this substance makes you eat less, hence you do not gain weight, and you live longer. The studies performed by scientists claimed that all animals including rats, monkeys and apes lived a lot longer when given red wine. Further, the research also revealed that red wine decreased cholesterol and helped control blood pressure.

Is this all true? Well, all the stories are reported by people who sell Resveratrol. They claim that people who drink red wine regularly live a lot longer, have no heart disease and their skin is smooth, wrinkle free and very soft.

So should we all drink red wine?

Yes, these vendors say. All red wines contain Resveratrol. Wines from Canada generally contain more of Resveratrol than those sold in California. This is thought to be due to the increased moisture and humidity in the north atmosphere. The increased humidity allows the fungus to thrive and thus grapes produce more Resveratrol to kill the fungus.

So how much wine should one drink?

Well if you drink too much you may die prematurely from liver disease. So the experts say drink one glass of red wine

So the next time you lift your Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio for a toast, remember, besides friendship and good times, you are also gaining your youth, getting rid of your wrinkles and of course becoming a better lover- viva la France.
