Facts about lips and & lip enhancement

All of us age and unfortunately with time, lips began to appear thin, saggy, and dry. The sagging may cause unevenness in lips making them slightly unattractive. For many years, there was not much that could be done about sagging or thin lips. Today, however, things have changed. Lips can be made beautiful with use of dermal fillers. When these dermal fillers are injected, in just 30 mins, one can have nice, luscious, plump, erotic, and younger looking lips- at least that is how it is supposed to happen.

All lip enhancement injections are performed as an outpatient at a spa or a clinic. This is the one procedure that physicians perform themselves. For the consumer, it is important to know who is performing the procedure because there are also some nurses who perform these procedures- nurses are cheaper than physicians but the results are not always guaranteed and complications are more common (plus nurses have zero training in cosmetic surgery- passing an instrument to a surgeon does not automatically qualify one to the status of surgeon).

Prior to injection, the site of is marked. Lip enhancement is painful (if you do not believe me, take a pin, and prick your lips!). The surgeons do numb the area with a local anesthetic but pain does not completely disappear. There are also some dermal fillers which are formulated with a local anesthetic. In any case, be prepared to feel some pain.

One reason why lip enhancement is done while the patient is awake is because the surgeon can actually see the results while he/she is performing the injections. During general anesthesia, lips tend to collapse and become flaccid. This makes it very difficult for the surgeon to appreciate the symmetry.
